Two primary schools in the Gozo College have been awarded the Green Flag at a prize-giving ceremony forming party of the annual seminar of Gozo Eco School.

Xewkija primary school got its second Green Flag from Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, and a participation certificate for the HSBC Eco-Schools Climate Initiative Community Project.

Għajnsielem primary, where the ceremony was held, got its first Green Flag, and the girls’ secondary school got a Silver Award.

Mrs Debono said an eco-Gozo scheme for schools will be launched soon, each school benefiting from a maximum €3,000 for projects in the interest of students.
