Malta Independent Saturday, 3 December 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

A protocol to amend the convention between Malta and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion, with respect to taxes on income and on capital, was signed in Brussels yesterday.

Luxembourg recently asked for the double taxation Convention, signed on 29 April 1994, to be amended since it needed to come into line with international exchange of information provisions following revisions to international guidelines in 2009.

The Protocol was signed on behalf of Malta Finance Minister Tonio Fenech, and on behalf of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg by Luc Friedman, Minister of Finance.
