HSBC’s Birkirkara Branch gets extensive refurbishment

Malta Independent Sunday, 4 December 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

HSBC carried out extensive refurbishment on its two-floor Birkirkara branch, which now includes two next-generation ATMs for quicker automated transactions. The branch reflects the new look and feel of HSBC branches designed to Group standards around the world. HSBC is investing €11 million to upgrade its branches and ATMs in Malta to give customers the same brand experience HSBC is known for worldwide.

The layout of the re-launched branch has changed significantly. Tellers have been relocated to the first floor for extra security and reassurance, while meeting space on the ground floor has been re-organised to provide customers with more space and privacy.

HSBC Malta’s Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management Paul Steel said: “With its central location and surrounding commercial activity, our Birkirkara branch is now even better equipped to offer quick, reliable and straightforward banking services and Financial Planning services in style, privacy and comfort.”

At the reopening ceremony, Birkirkara councillor Mark George Abdilla commended HSBC for upgrading the branch and automated facilities. “Birkirkara has developed into a popular shopping centre in its own right; this upgrade places the town on an even steadier footing to handle the commercial activity brought by the town’s successful enterprises and community members.”
