The Institute of Financial Services Malta (ifs Malta) has launched a ground-breaking new qualification that allows individuals to obtain the dual award of a top MBA coupled with ‘Chartered Banker’ status.

This innovative qualification, known as the Chartered Banker Master of Business Administration (CMBA) is awarded by the internationally renowned Bangor Business School University (UK), in partnership with the world’s oldest professional Institute of Bankers, the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.

During a presentation to prospective students and interested parties held recently at St James Cavalier, Valletta, Phil Ryan, managing director of the CMBA programme explained the benefits of attaining such a qualification as it combines the high level skills and professional competencies that will be demanded of current and future leaders in the challenging post-crisis environment. He outlined the course contents and the eligibility criteria of the different streams of the programme, and the possibility of attaining exemptions in recognition of existing professional qualifications.

Robert J. Sultana, business development manager of ifs Malta, delivered a presentation on the various government funding schemes and EU reimbursements available and explained how ifs Malta would facilitate and assist potential candidates interested in reading for the CMBA.

The first intake of CMBA candidates will take place in January and February 2012. Anyone interested is encouraged to apply through ifs Malta. Further information is available on the website at: www.ifsmalta.org, or by email to: [email protected] or phone 2124 0335.
