This Christmas, the Society ‘Christmas in Xagħra’ is offering a unique opportunity to 18 artistic cribs, static, mechanical and a Live Crib all of the many Christmas exhibitions being put up in Xagħra, Gozo. This one time cultural tour takes visitors by mini bus round the town and is an occasion not to be missed.

The tour is being held on Friday, 30 December. An experienced guide will accompany the group with a running commentary in English. The tour will visit the Xagħra Basilica beautifully decorated for Christmas including an artistic bambino made in Lecce Italy with the technique of cartapesta leccese and five artistic Nativity cribs. Highlights of the tour will be a representation of the Nativity with a Live Crib held in a farmhouse and an exhibition of crafts all with a touch of Christmas.

A short break during the tour will include the traditional home brewed black coffee (tat-taċċi) with the option of distilled orange blossom water and village biskuttini all of which are particular Xagħra brands.

Transport by mini bus will leave from near the entrance to Ġgantija Temples at 5pm Entrance to all places to be visited is free but a small contribution of €3.50 to cover transport, guide services and snacks is being asked. As the number is very limited it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.
