Malta Independent Friday, 23 December 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Vodafone has donated an eight-metre Christmas Tree to the Paola local council that has livened up the locality’s main square for the festive season. The tree is a real living evergreen coniferous tree. After Christmas, the local council will be re-planting the tree in one of the locality’s gardens so that it can be used again next year.

“It is part of our mission to contribute to the communities we work in and we’re increasingly making sure that our initiatives are also sustainable,” said Daniela Abela, Brand Executive at Vodafone Malta. This initiative is part of Vodafone’s commitment not only to contribute to the communities it works in but also to contribute sustainably to our environment. “We urge all those who have bought a live tree this Christmas to re-plant it, so that together we strengthen the culture that’s kinder to the environment.”

Paola mayor Dominic Grima said that this initiative is a gesture which is being truly appreciated by the local council and which will help the Paola local council to provide greener environment to its people.
