Maltese Club Tigers wins third softball tournament

The third softball tournament was a huge success for the local team. The four teams which took part were Malta Tigers, Sharks Cernusco, Milano 1946 and Saronno.

The tournament, that took place over two days, was won by the Maltese team. The Tigers won all their matches as the scores below show:

Milano - Malta 6-8; Cernusco - Malta 5-9; Malta - Saronno 13-2; Malta - Cernusco 9-3

Apart from this tournament, a Softball clinic was also held in the new softball ground at the B’Kara Tennis Club. Various exercises were shown by the Tigers’ coach, Roberto Andolfi, consisting of the player’s role on the field. This was highly appreciated by the visiting teams and all players were enthusiastic to participate.

A dinner was held at Lo Squero Restaurant, where all teams exchanged gifts and enjoyed a relaxing night together. The teams also enjoyed visits around Malta, especially in Sliema, Mdina and Valletta.

All the teams thanked the club for their hospitality and generosity and their comments were all pleasant. The Maltese team thanked all the people involved in making this tournament possible especially the club’s president, Elaine Schembri, the team’s manager, Roberto Andolfi, and the team’s captain, Erica Xerri Mallan, and also the tournament sponsors, namely Lo Squero, Andolfi Glass Ideas, Farsons, Nestle, Prime, GSD and Hansa Cash and Carry for helping out during this tournament.
