The Department of Industrial and Employment Relations has launched the fifth issue of its newsletter I Review. This on-line publication is intended not only to inform but also contribute to public debate on employment conditions and industrial relations in Malta.

In this issue, Dr Noel Vella, Director of the Department, discusses the mechanism of industrial dispute resolution. Vincent Micallef highlights the issue of the area of competence of the Industrial Tribunal in another article, while Roderick Mizzi discusses the issue of precarious employment in an article derived from a related study conducted by the DIER Research Unit. This issue also includes the first part of an article about the history of the DIER written by Louis Grech.
