Malta Enterprise is currently receiving expressions of interest from enterprises interested in setting up operations at the Xewkija Industrial Park in Gozo, for which it is making available around 7,400 square metres of industrial space.
The industrial space − which is the current remaining space available at the park – will be allocated to the best proposals in line with the eligibility and evaluation parameters established in the EOI document.
These include, among others, the strength of the business plan of the interested enterprise, the generation of new and quality jobs, the new investment to be made, as well as compatibility with Vision 2015.
Through the allocation of the industrial space, Malta Enterprise is seeking to spur more high value added activity in Gozo, particularly in sectors such as high value-added manufacturing or high-end technologies, ICT, industrial and experimental R&D activities, as well as other operations in line with the Eco-Gozo strategy.
Additionally, the allocation of industrial space shall also contribute towards the relocation of industrial activity away from the village cores to a more appropriate environment, which is furthermore next in line for upgrading works as part of the €17 million ERDF co-funded project to improve a number of industrial estates in Malta.
Besides general embellishment and upgrading work, the ERDF co-funded project also includes the construction of a childcare centre at the Xewkija industrial park.
Expressions of Interest are to be submitted to Malta Enterprise by noon on 31 January.
Further information about the Expression of Interest or the information session can be obtained from www.maltaenterprise.com or by contacting Malta Enterprise’s Gozo Office on 2156 4700 or at [email protected].
