24 Years service at Seashells Resort at Suncrest

After 24 years of sterling service at Seashells Resort at Suncrest, Maintenance Manager Charles Azzopardi has retired. Mr Azzopardi was one of the first employees to be recruited at the Suncrest Hotel when it opened in June 1987.

Thanking Mr Azzopardi for his service and loyalty to the company, Angelo Xuereb, chairman of AX Holdings commented, “Charles is an exemplary employee whose allegiance and trustworthiness has helped him move on in his career. I wish Charles good health and success on his retirement.”

Mr Azzopardi was recruited as a technician, and was promoted to supervisor in 1989. His consistent interest in staff welfare and related activities led him to be appointed Shop Steward and a member of the Sports and Social Club Committee. In 1996 he was promoted to Maintenance Works Coordinator and in December 1996 was awarded the prestigious Chairman’s Award (The Chairman’s Award is an initiative to encourage staff members to come up with innovative ideas with regard to cost cutting or revenue generating). 

His was appointed assistant maintenance manager in 1998 and in 2000 he was promoted to maintenance manager, a post he held till he retired.
