Nexia BT hosted its associates and key service providers to an event marking the celebration of 20 years of service in the financial services sector.

“The event was just a small token of recognition to the people who have helped shape the company and make Nexia BT what it is today. Back in 1992, I would never have thought that the firm would grow to such an extent and offer the vast amount of professional services it does today. It is very satisfying to see everyone’s hard work pay off!” said managing partner Brian Tonna.

Founded in 1992, the organisation – then with Brian acting as the sole practitioner – provided accountancy services to a number of local clients. At its inception, it employed three people and operated out of small offices in Marsascala. Today, it is one of the established financial services organisations on the island, with a portfolio of clients that include both major local companies and international clients. Nexia BT employs over 50 people, the majority of whom are qualified accountants and/or business graduates.

In 2007 the firm became members of Nexia International, a worldwide network of independent auditors, business advisers and consultants, present in over 100 countries. Today, its services include audit, corporate finance, tax advisory and business advisory services in different markets, ranging from traditional trading and holding companies to shipping, yachting, remote gaming, investment services and aviation.

Earlier this year, the company received the NCPE Equality Mark Certificate, which is awarded to organisations that demonstrate a commitment towards best practices in the area of gender equality.
