Court: Man Pleads guilty to airport assault

Philip Grech, 47, of Mqabba, pleaded guilty to threatening and assaulting an airport security official at Malta International Airport last Sunday at about 1pm. He also admitted to Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani that he slightly injured Stephanie Attard and causing damage at the airport.

Mr Grech, who is assisted by Dr Franco Debono, admitted also that he disturbed the public peace, injured some people, did not obey legitimate police orders, and relapsing.

Before sentencing him Magistrate Padovani said she has to have an affidavit from the psychiatrist who examined the accused. Until then Mr Grech was allowed bail on a personal guarantee of €5,000.

Inspector Geoffrey Azzopardi conducted the prosecution.
