The Department of Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER) has launched the sixth issue of its newsletter I Review. This on-line publication is intended not only to inform but also contribute to public debate on employment conditions and industrial relations in Malta.

In this issue, Alistair Borg, Assistant Director at the Department describes the efforts and achievements of the DIER in 2011. In his article, Vincent Micallef provides more details about the area of competence of the Industrial Tribunal while Louis Grech concludes his feature about the history of the DIER.

This issue also includes a review of an interesting study entitled “The Price of Motherhood” conducted by the Centre for Labour Studies at the University of Malta in collaboration with the National Statistics Office.
