Formula One and motorsport art is the theme of an exhibition by artist Godwin Cini which will be officially opened by Paola Mayor Roderick Spiteri in the main hall of the Paola Local Council on Saturday 2 June at 10am.
The exhibition is organised by the McLaren F1 Club (Malta) and the Paola Local Council.
Using poster, water colour, pencil and other mediums, the artist presents more than a hundred of F1-related artworks which include portraits of famous drivers, F1 World Champions, racing cars from the sphere of Formula One and other images from the world of motorsport.
The artist, who is also a poet, will also display a small selection of his poems about cars. Those who visit the exhibition titled ‘Il-Formula 1 u l-Karozzi fl-Arti’ will have the opportunity to view a wide range of educational posters focussing on road safety. The name of this particular section is ‘Safety on the Roads’.
Paola-born Godwin Cini is also renowned for the number of programmes on motorsports which he produced and presented on the media. He is the author of several articles about Formula One in local motorsport magazines, including McLaren F1 Club (Malta) official annual magazine Pitpass.
The attractive poster for the art exhibition is sponsored by Mediterranean Bank. The exhibition, which is open to the public, remains open till 8 June.
