“Bank of Valletta’s wealth management client base and assets under management continue to grow as Malta develops as an international financial service centre”, the newly-appointed Executive Head of Wealth Management Aldo Scardino told the 5th Annual FinanceMalta Conference.
Mr Scardino recently participated as a panellist during the workshop on wealth management held during the FinanceMalta conference. Mr Scardino said that a number of factors contributed to the success the Bank was achieving in this area, primarily the level of personal attention offered to clients during this period when the international marktes were experiencing high volatility and so may questions were being raised by investors on the performance of the major economies.
The issue of personal attention was stressed upon – particularly in the light of the feedback received from the Bank’s international clients who valued the fact that they still interacted with a qualified and experienced personal relationship manager and personal portfolio manager. “This was not the case any longer with the larger international wealth managers,” he stressed.
Mr Scardino further explained that the personalised and dedicated wealth management offering needed to be considered within the context of BOV’s universal offering from financial planning to deposits and payments, to foreign exchange, and from stockbroking to custody and trusts.
All financial planning advisors as well as relationship managers within BOV’s Wealth Management Centre advise clients on a wide range of investment solutions adopting an open architecture approach, supplemented by a strong and focused research team.
“Clients can rest assured that best-in-breed products and services are available to them, even thanks to arrangements and alliances with BOV’s business partners which include world top financial institutions such as JP Morgan Chase and Barclays Bank. These partnerships enable international reach from Malta with a focus and expertise in private wealth management, investment management, financial planning, brokerage and private banking at a much lower cost when compared to the traditional wealth management jurisdictions.”
“Indeed, wealth management is one of the key growth areas at BOV. It is part of the Bank’s DNA because BOV is synonymous with relationship banking,” he added.
