Keeping Pace with ever-changing cybercrime landscape: IDC IT Security Roadshow enters 10th season

Malta Independent Sunday, 24 June 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

A half-day conference entitled “IDC IT Security Roadshow 2012” will take place on 13 September. The event is being organised by IDC, the global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications, and consumer technology markets.

IDC’s IT Security Roadshow addresses key issues and developments in the field of IT security, facilitating dialogue between users and vendors and bringing together experts from various domains to discuss new security technologies and approaches and how they fit into businesses strategies.

A continually evolving breed of unknown, persistent, targeted, and adaptive security threats is pushing companies’ enterprise IT/security infrastructure to their limits. “Businesses are struggling to protect themselves as these outside threats become more resistant to signature-based security tools,” says IDC Senior Analyst Christine Liebert. “It’s becoming clear that many of these emerging threats cannot be defended against in house, creating a shift to a more proactive security posture.”

Likewise, IT security is no longer an isolated area of IT endeavour – it is central to the decision-making processes required to confront new market realities. “Many of the IT initiatives that are sweeping the region require new approaches to IT security,” says Research Director Thomas Vavra at IDC CEMA. “Virtualisation, virtual offices, cloud computing – all are parts of evolving company strategies that must be considered hand-in-hand with the security challenges they present.”

The IDC IT Security Roadshow 2012 will focus on the most pressing security issues of modern companies, including:

● Security and Business Strategy

● Enterprise Security Intelligence

● Securing the Virtualised Data Centre

● Security and the Cloud

● Network and Mobile Security

● Data Governance

IDC has teamed up with a host of leading vendors for the IDC IT Security Roadshow 2012 to ensure that the conference series covers all the latest technology developments.
