On Thursday the Malta Stock Exchange Index dropped by 0.93 per cent and closed at 3,022.168 points as 10 equities were negotiated across 22 deals for a total value of €90,190. Three equities were positive, five were negative and two remained stable.
Simonds Farsons Cisk plc was the best performer of the session as its share price reached a new high when it appreciated by 2.3 per cent and closed at €2.150 on a single deal of 10,560 shares.
HSBC Bank Malta plc was also positive as its share price gained 1.1 per cent and closed at 2.510 as 5,600 shares changed hands across seven deals.
The share price of Malta International Airport plc appreciated by 0.5 per cent and closed at €1.780 on two deals with a total volume of 11,400 shares.
Meanwhile 6pm Holdings plc lost most ground as its price reached a new low when it dropped by 8.5 per cent to close at £0.320 on a single deal of just 1,000 shares.
A single deal of 2,813 shares led to a drop of 0.9 per cent in the share price of Bank of Valletta plc which closed at €2.060.
Crimsonwing plc saw its share price drop by 7.1 per cent when it closed at €0.260 on a single deal of 36,335 shares.
International Hotel Investments plc was also negative as a single deal of just 500 shares led to a drop of 5.5 per cent in its share price which closed at €0.850.
The share price of Middlesea Insurance plc dropped by 1.5 per cent and closed at €0.640 as 8,500 shares were negotiated across four deals.
Meanwhile the share prices of Lombard Bank Malta plc and RS2 Software plc remained stable at €2.200 and €0.500 respectively.
In the corporate bond market eight bonds were negotiated. Three were positive, one was negative and four remained stable. The 4.25% FIMBank 2013 and the 7% FIMBank 2012/19 gained most ground as their price appreciated by 0.7 per cent respectively. On the other hand the 5.6% GlobalCapital 2014/16 lost most ground as its price dropped by 1.2 per cent.
In the government bond market five bonds were negotiated. The 5.25% MGS 2030 was the only positive performer while the 6.6% MGS 2014 lost most ground.
