Malta Independent Monday, 2 July 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, one of the fastest growing international airlines, was named Best Air Cargo Carrier Middle East for the 17th consecutive year at the Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA).

The AFSCA awards in Shanghai, organised by market leading transport and logistics newspaper Cargonews Asia, are widely regarded as the most authoritative and prestigious awards for the industry in Asia.

“We are honoured to have received the award again and the recognition of the continued success of Emirates SkyCargo by our industry is a great honour. Asia, and China in particular, is a key market for Emirates SkyCargo and remains an area of huge trading potential,” said Michael Qu, Emirates’ Cargo Manager China, who collected the award.

Currently, Emirates SkyCargo offers over 1,300 tonnes total weekly capacity from Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, including five weekly freighter services from Shanghai and daily belly-hold services from all three cities.

The AFSCA award comes shortly after Emirates SkyCargo received the prestigious Cargo Airline of the Year award for the 24th consecutive year by trade magazine Air Cargo News.

Emirates flies on a daily schedule from Malta to Dubai via Larnaka, Cyprus. Emirates SkyCargo is located on the First Floor at MIA Departures and can be contacted on tel. no 21660102, or at [email protected].
