The winners of the Malta Baby & Kids Directory Best Mum and Best Dad Awards were presented today with awards by Mrs Catherine Gonzi at a celebratory party generously hosted by Baystreet Complex on level 4.

The Malta Baby & Kids Directory this year celebrates their 6th anniversary and together with the launch of the latest 6th edition directory the Malta Baby & Kids team is once again honouring those special mums and dads who should be recognised for their incredibly hard task of bringing up children often through difficult circumstances.

Earlier this year the Best Mum and Best Dad Awards campaign was launched supported by Mothercare on the television programme ‘Sellili’ and the public were invited to nominate a spouse, relative or friend who they felt deserved the titles of “Best Mum” and “Best Dad”. The campaign generated a great response and three finalists were chosen for each category. Viewers were then asked to vote for their favourite choice and these together with a panel decided which mum and dad deserved to win these awards. Josette Falzon and Neil Cusens were deservedly voted this year’s winners proving that raising children through difficult circumstances is all doable. Their stories are featured in the latest edition of the Malta Baby & Kids Directory.

The winners were presented with stunning awards and some amazing prizes including: a weekend break at the Radisson Blu resort, St Julians; a Myoka Spa voucher for a 100 Euros, a Mothercare voucher value of 150 Euros; a family photo session at The Fotografer, Fgura; a three month membership for a family of four at Spinach Fitness club and a meal for two at the de Mondion restaurant in Mdina.

The winner of the Front Cover painting competition sponsored by KidzArt with the theme ‘My Favourite Olympic Sport’ is Tom Attard (14 years old) and the runner up is Alayah Hili (8 years old). The winner’s painting is on the cover of the 6th edition of the Malta Baby & Kids Directory launched on the 12th July. The book contains vouchers and is the essential reference for parents and childcarers in Malta and Gozo.
