Georgina Portelli from Bank of Valletta’s Luqa branch was presented with the Best Suggestion of the Quarter Award for the period April to June 2012 by Alan Cassar, Executive Head Branch Network at Bank of Valletta. Maria Ancilleri from the bank’s Marsa branch was the best suggestor for the same period achieving the highest number of accepted suggestions.

“Employee suggestions can result in the generation of a wealth of creative and valuable ideas,” said Mr Cassar while presenting the awards to the winners. “Employees are an extremely valuable tool in idea generation, as they often see possible improvements from the front-line or back-office role that will result in a more straightforward and efficient process that adds value to the customer.

“Bank of Valletta’s Staff Suggestion Scheme also makes the staff feel that they are making a difference within the institution and contributing to its’ success,” continued Mr Cassar. “The scheme’s popularity with the staff saw the bank receiving over 1,200 suggestions over the last year, with almost a third of these being implemented by the bank.”
