The MCA is accepting applications for nominations in the second edition of the MCA eBusiness Awards.
The awards are aimed at acknowledging unique and innovative business initiatives that combine web-based technologies with entrepreneurial flair. In particular, these awards will aid in the promotion of the innovative initiatives in the domain of eBusiness and spread awareness on the potential of web-based technologies to drive economic growth and social development.
An independent adjudication committee comprising representatives from industry, government and academia, has been purposely formed for this event. The committee will have the role of evaluating the nominations received, short-listing candidates for the award and subsequently identifying the winner for each category.
Following the success of last year’s edition, the categories for award this year are:
• Best eGovernment Initiative
• Best use of Technology in the Tourism Sector
• Best eCommerce Site (B2C)
• Best use of Social Media
• Best B2B Application
• Best Mobile Application (Mobile Phone and Tablet)
• Best eBusiness Idea of the Year
“Driven by the positive response to the first edition of the awards in 2011, this year’s edition will continue to serve as a medium to push the take-up of ICT and promote eBusiness,” said Ing Philip Micallef, the MCA’s executive chairman.
“This event offers enterprises the opportunity to showcase their achievements and, at the same time, exposing other enterprises to the business potential of ICT.”
Applications are open to all organisations that have, in some form or another, integrated ICT as part of their operational set up.
Interested parties can log on to www.mca.org.mt/ebusiness-awards-2012 and submit their nominations online. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 28 September.
