In line with its constant expansion projects, Spanish brand Massimo Dutti has enetered the North American market with its first store store in Toronto, Canada. The nearly 5,000-square-foot concept store is located on the third floor of the Toronto Eaton Centre.
The brand is described as Inditex’s most sophisticated brand in that while other brands’ offerings might be on the trendier side, Massimo Dutti offers collections with more staying power.
Also recently, after it was announced that there were plans for Massimo Dutti to take over the site at 689 in 5th Avenue a little over a year ago, plans have now reached a more concrete phase and this new store is now expected to debut round mid-October coming.
“We are delighted to learn that Massimo Dutti has finally established a presence in the north American market, a region which is highly important in its quest to gain a sound foothold in that part of the world. This constant expansion reflects the growing success that the brand is garnering in the different markets where it is establishing a presence and we are of course very proud to be part of this ongoing success,” comments Annabelle Caruana, brand manager for Massimo Dutti.
“In Malta, Massimo Dutti has been enjoying growing popularity since the brand was first introduced in April 2010, with the opening of the first outlet at The Point shopping complex in Tignè. The popularity being enjoyed by Massimo Dutti is owed to its classic, elegant wardrobe staples and sophisticated styles but also to the high quality of the materials used, the attention to detail that is mostly apparent in the particular trimmings as well as the very accessible price tag,” added Annabelle Caruana.
Founded in 1985 and acquired by Spanish retail giant Inditex in 1991, Massimo Dutti originally focused on men’s fashions but in 1992, it introduced its first collections for women, ranging from über-urban to casual lines, enabling Massimo Dutti to consolidate its position as a rapidly expanding name on both the Spanish and international markets. Today, the brand has more than 584 stores in over 53 countries round the world and a staff complement that currently exceeds 4,000.
