A €2 million extension and refurbishment to Paola’s Main Street Complex was officially inaugurated this morning.
The complex was opened in 2004 at Paola’s main square, with an area of 2,862 square metres.
An expansion project started last December, after two adjacent properties were acquired. The façade of the two residences was retained, although the complex’s own façade was upgraded.
The project itself cost some €2 million, although its stores spend another €1 million between them.
Apart from a number of shopping outlets, the complex includes a computerised bingo hall, a café restaurant with a large roof terrace, and free underground parking for visitors. Debenhams is the store’s anchor tenant, spread over multiple floors.
The store was inaugurated by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, with Small Business Minister Jason Azzopardi in attendance.
