The Malta Tourism Authority’s German office based in Frankfurt has recently updated its official German iPhone Malta travel guide application. The existing version has now been adapted for the iPad format and also contains updated information and new photos.
The first edition of this application was successfully launched by MTA in August 2010, followed by an English version in November 2010 and the Italian and French versions in December 2011.
iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users and holidaymakers can download a variety of useful information about the Maltese Islands free of charge. The application comprises numerous helpful facts and provides significant locations on-site. It not only serves as a cultural signpost but also as a sports companion and thus ensures a manifold holiday in Malta and Gozo.
“MTA is committed to continue with its efforts to enhance its communication tools to reach a wider audience of potential visitors to Malta,” commented Joe Galea, director of International Marketing of MTA. He added: “Since the launch of the Malta travel guide application two years ago we had around 30,000 downloads and since the launch of the new iPad version we already registered 8,200 updates.”
The Malta application contains also city and region descriptions, an activity guide, a fact book, a map with around 1,000 points of interest, an offline modus for the holiday, an event calendar and many other useful features.
