A Naxxar man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Marfa Road, Mellieha at 9.45pm Friday, the police said this morning.

The accident happened when a Mellieha man, 42, who was driving a Seat Ibiza, lost control and crashed into a parked Opel Corsa.

The crash was followed by a collision with a Fiat Uno that was being driven by the Naxxar man, 54.

The drivers had to be taken out of their cars by Civil Protection Department personnel.

The driver of the Seat was not injured.
