Malta Independent Saturday, 23 February 2013, 19:40 Last update: about 11 years ago

GonziPN has been for two weeks on a campaign of hysterical and negative attacks against the Labour Party, the PL said in a statement. At the same time, the PL continued to talk about a roadmap and positive proposals.

Today, the PN threw senseless doubts on Joseph Muscat, and the PL also interpreted this as an attack by the PN on the financial services sector.

In a statement to reply to the PN’s press conference given by Tonio Fenech, the PL said that Joe Cordina was appointed as financial administrator by the general conference in 2008, not by Joseph Muscat. This had taken place after the PL stature had been changed. Joe Cordina was confirmed by the national executive.

Dr Muscat never had business with Mr Cordina and they never shared an office.

The PL said Dr Muscat was employed by Crystal Finance Investments Limited whose chairman is Alfred Mifsud Part of his work was to meet clients who wanted to invest their money. This took place also in Gozo at a number of operators including Mr Cordina. This work was regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority.
