Youths must be protagonists, not spectators - Muscat

Malta Independent Friday, 1 March 2013, 08:04 Last update: about 12 years ago

Young people should be protagonists, and not just spectators, Labour leader Joseph Muscat said during a rally at the Cottonera sports complex.

The Labour Movements wants to do away with the politics of the past and work for unity in the country. New civil rights will be introduced under a Labour government he said, stopping short of saying what they were.

Dr Muscat said that it was untrue that there is no unemployment among youths. There are 4,600 young people without a job, he said.

He repeated the pledge that University students who fail will still continue to receive their stipends.
