Gian Carlo Millo represented the ISACA Malta Chapter as Vice President in ISACA’s 2013 Europe-Africa Leadership Conference that took place in Tel Aviv, Israel last month. The two-day conference was attended by around 50 leaders from various ISACA chapters in the Europe-Africa region.
“ISACA Leadership Conferences offer chapter leaders the opportunity to share experiences and to exchange best practices,” Mr Millo said. “The Malta Chapter makes every effort to be represented in all such events in order to ensure that its strategy remains aligned with the overall ISACA strategy.”
Chapter leaders were informed that ISACA has recently reached an association milestone of becoming 200 chapters strong, spread over 82 countries in 6 continents. Chapters provide members education, resource sharing, advocacy, professional networking and a host of other benefits on a local level. These are managed by over 2,000 dedicated volunteers who act as chapter leaders.
Global membership now exceeds 114,000 members, with a quarter of these located in the Europe-Africa region alone. The Malta Chapter has over 150 members, the majority of which have earned one or more of ISACA’s globally respected certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Members cover a variety of professional IT-related positions, including Information System auditors, consultants, educators, security professionals, regulators, chief information officers and internal auditors. They work in nearly all industry categories, including financial and banking, public accounting, government and the public sector, utilities and manufacturing.
The next Europe-Africa Leadership Conference will be held in London, England in September 2013. This will be followed by ISACA’s 2013 EuroCACS/ISRM conference, which is Europe’s premier conference for audit, information security and risk management. Another major event is INSIGHTS 2013, which is ISACA’s world congress to be held in Berlin, Germany during June 2013. INSIGHTS 2013 is a leadership forum for business and IT professionals, with unprecedented access to CEOs, CIOs and other business leaders from around the world.
