The head of communications at the Office of the Prime Minister was fined for contempt of court but later had the fine revoked after turning up in court.
Kurt Farrugia was fined €300 for failing to turn up for a libel hearing in a case instituted by former Ambassador Richard Cachia Caruana.
A warrant of arrest was also issued against Mr Farrugia.
Later he was also fined €300 for another libel case instiuted against him by the former head of news of PBS, Natalino Fenech.
Mr Farrugia turned up in court at 11.30a and said he had not been notified of the hearings. He apologized and the fines were revoked.
