Public service employees who failed the examinations for clerks, executive officers, assistant principals, principals and senior principals are for the first time being given the opportunity to re-sit their examination, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
The decision was taken in light of irregularities which were discovered in the examinations that were held last January. The irregularities were investigated by the police, the OPM said, without adding if the police made any findings.
It pointed out also that last week the original results of the examinations, before they were altered, were published, but the need was also felt that candidates who failed their test should have a remedy for the shortcomings in the process. Examination candidates were also given the opportunity to revise the exam.
Re-sits applications will be opened next Wednesday and will be able to be downloaded from the Examinations Department website, or can be collected from the department.
