Former Sliema deputy mayor Cyrus Engerer was this morning acquitted of harassing former partner Marvic Camilleri.
In 2011, Mr Enegerer resigned from the PN and moved to Labour.
A complaint was filed in court by Marvic Camilleri back in January 2010.
Mr Engerer, 31, was acquitted of being in possession of and circulating pornographic material, and of computer misuse. He was also acquitted of vilifying Mr Camilleri, a former employee of the Nationalist Party and a former member of the PN youth movement.
The alleged crimes took place between December 2009 and January 2010.
Mr Camilleri had complained that Mr Engerer had circulated compromising photographs of himself to friends and his employer. The charges were issued days after his father, Chris Engerer, who owns a beach club in Sliema, was arrested after police caught him smoking cannabis outside his home.
The court took note of Mr Camilleri’s decision to formally drop the charges filed against Mr Engerer.
Lawyer Franco Debono appeared for Mr Engerer.
