Football legend Ian Rush, 51, has been caught offside after being spotted in Malta with model Carol Anthony, 20 years his junior.

The international press reports that Mr Rush’s wife Tracy Rush has given her husband the red card, threatening divorce over the affair.

Mr Rush was caught with his eye off the ball after his wife discovered some suggestive texts on his mobile.

Mr Rush is an official ambassador for his old club Liverpool FC, but it is doubtful whether his former club approve of his latest score.
