First Comiso-Malta flight on 21 June

Malta Independent Thursday, 6 June 2013, 12:31 Last update: about 12 years ago

The first official flight between Comiso and Malta will take place on 21 June, the Corriere di Ragusa is reporting. The return flight will be the following Sunday.

The newspaper said that the flight will be operated by Medair with an aircraft of 50 seats – and it will be the first official flight to depart from Comiso airport. The flight takes just 20 minutes, the newspaper reports.

The initiative is that of a Ragusa entrepreneur who is testing the market for an eventual expansion, the newspaper said.

It is expected that there will be other flights to nearby locations such as the Pelagian Islands and North African airports. The official Comiso-Rome Ciampino link will start in August.
