Isabella Camilleri, a Maltese medical doctor living in the UK, has published three books in the Blake trilogy – The Blake Soul, The Blake Curse, and The Blake Mistake.

The Blake Mistake has been nominated for the People’s Book Prize in the UK. The public vote is now open to all nationalities and anyone is free to register and vote online.

Dr Camilleri’s books have had several favourable reviews, such as this one from Amazon: “...The story highlights the brutal reality of the drug business and the pain this inflicts on the relatives of its victims. It is a message to youths... I can imagine that the story and its unravelling would look very good on the big screen too and I hope to see it in the cinema one day...."

This is how she described herself in an interview she gave: “I was born on 7 February 1969 in Malta. I graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1993 and I moved to the UK shortly afterwards. And this is where I still live and work. Medicine and writing are my passion. The Blake Curse is my first published work. It is a psychological thriller and romance set in the beautiful city of Cambridge.

“My medical background has exposed me to various problems in our society, namely alcohol, drugs and that disregard to the sanctity of human life. I integrated these in the storyline and I have exposed their dark side. There are subtle messages neatly wrapped inside the fictional story.”
