Two men were injured in an explosion that took place at 4.20pm at the 12th May Fireworks Factory, in the outskirts of Zebbug.

They are a 57-year-old man from Ta' Xbiex, who was injured in the upper body, and a 33-year-old man from Msida, whose injuries were slight, the police said.

Both were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The two men were mixing material in one of the rooms at the complex, when the explosion took place. Four other people who were at the complex were not injured
