Transfer news: Swansea looking out for new striker

Malta Independent Sunday, 28 July 2013, 12:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Michael Laudrup has confirmed that he is still looking to bring another striker to Swansea City this summer, but admits there is not much other work he needs to do on his squad if nobody leaves, Sky reports.

Laudrup has bolstered his attacking options this summer with the record signing of Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem, but he would like to bring in a different type of forward before the transfer deadline.

He is staying relaxed over his transfer business, though, as he is happy with every other department in his squad and knows there is plenty of time left before the window slams shut.

Having also signed the likes of Jordi Amat and Jose Canas, and extended Jonathan de Guzman's loan from Villarreal for a second season, Laudrup's main focus is on keeping all his key players.

Speaking after Saturday's 3-0 friendly win at Reading, he told Sky Sports News: "I think we still need another striker, another kind of striker, but apart from that I really don't know.

"If nothing more happens, and by happens I mean if none of the regulars leave the squad, then I think maybe only one player would be enough.

"We still have 30-something days."
