Twenty-eight expressions of interest have been received for the development of a maritime hub on the site of the former Marsa Shipbuilding.

Monday was the last day when investors who collected the documents related to the project could submit their proposals.

From the 28 submissions, 11 are for the whole site, while the rest deal with parts of the area which covers 175,000 square metres. Both situations are possible, the government said in a statement.

The interest shown is a clear indication of the confidence investors have in the project, Economy Minister Chris Cardona said.
