A woman was hospitalised at around 1pm following a crash on the north bound carriageway of Regional Road.
A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department were called to assist the woman who was trapped in a Citroen C3 after a collision with a BMW.
The woman, 21 of St Julian's, was later certified to be suffering from slight injuries.
As a result of the accident, the BMW spun 180 degrees. Its driver was however not injured.
The police said preliminary investigations found that the woman was driving a Citroen C3 towards Paceville when she collided with a BMW 320D being driven by a man, 65, from Ghajnsielem.
As a result of the crash, the BMW spun to face the opposite direction while the Citroen swerved into a crash barrier.
The woman was extracted from her car by members of the Civil Protection Department.
