European Fund for the Integration of Third Country Nationals

The Funds and Programmes Division designated as Responsible Authority for the four Funds under the General Programme Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows 2007 – 2013 will be launching a call for project proposals under the European Fund for the Integration of Third Country Nationals in August 2013.

The call for project proposals under AP 2012 will focus on the following Priority Axis:

Priority Axis 1 – Implementation of the events proposed for the purpose of introduction of ‘Common basic principles of policy of integration of immigrants in the EU’ in practice

Action 1 - Improvement of procedures for preparation of admission procedure to ensure better integration process

Action 3 - Development and improvement of programmes and activities to establish and maintain relations with specific groups of third-country nationals.

Priority Axis 3 – Building capacities within policy, coordination and building intercultural knowledge on various levels and governmental departments

Action 5 - Training on the intercultural competence, capacity strengthening and diversity management for policy makers, servants and other persons working in the areas pertinent to the objectives of the IF.

Action 6 - Policy capacity building, coordination and intercultural competence building in the Member States across the different levels and departments of government

Around €270,000 (EU 75% co-financing) will be allocated to the call. Beneficiaries need to contribute to 25% of eligible expenditure and any ineligible costs.  More information about this call will be available shortly on the website of the Funds and Programmes Division.

The IF is targeted at third-country nationals who are residing legally on the territory of a third country and who are complying with specific pre-departure measures and/or conditions set out in national law.

The Funds and Programmes Division  designated as Responsible Authority for the four Funds under the General Programme Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows 2007  – 2013 will be  launching a call  for project proposals under the European Return Fund and the European Refugee Fund in August 2013.   European Return Fund (RF)   The call for project proposals under AP 2012 will focus on the following Priority Axes:   Priority Axis 3 - Support for Specific Innovative (Inter)-national Tools for Return Management   Action 3 – Improvement of cooperation with other countries of origin in conjunction with other Member States   Action  4  –  Project  Co-operation  between  Malta  and  African  countries  to  enhance  migration  dialogue  and developments   Around € 183,000 (EU 75% co-financing) will be allocated to the call.  Beneficiaries need to contribute to 25% of eligible expenditure and any ineligible costs.   The RF is targeted to all third-country nationals who have not received a final negative decision in relation to their request for international protection and all those who enjoy a form of international protection who may choose to make use of voluntary return. As well as all other third-county nationals who do not or no longer fulfil the conditions for entry and/or stay in a Member State.   European Refugee Fund (ERF)   The call for project proposals under AP 2012 will focus on the following Priority Axis:   Priority Axis 1 – Implementation of the principles and measures set in the Community Acquis in the field of asylum, including those related to integration objectives   Action 2: Integration   Activity 5: Continued provision of educational services   Around €100,000 (EU 75% co-financing) will be allocated to the call.  Beneficiaries need to contribute to 25% of eligible expenditure and any ineligible costs.   The ERF is targeted to third-country nationals or stateless persons who have the status or have applied for the status of refugee/for subsidiary protection or enjoy temporary protection or are being  or have been resettled in Malta.
