Ravel Morrison's skillful solo goal completed a 3-0 victory for West Ham over Tottenham in style on Sunday, ending a 14-year wait for a win at its London rival in the Premier League.

Morrison picked up possession inside his own half and swept past both Michael Dawson and Jan Vertonghen before dinking the ball over goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the 79th minute.

An ultra-defensive formation had seen West Ham struggle to threaten Tottenham's goal until Winston Reid opened the scoring in the 66th.

Then Ricardo Vaz Te fortuitously added another six minutes later, with the ball coming off his knee after Lloris blocked an initial shot.

West Ham's first win at White Hart Lane since 1999 lifted the team to 13th. Tottenham fell out of the top four to sixth.

There was a heavy police presence inside the ground as part of a crackdown on racism.

In last year's fixture, abuse by West Ham fans put the spotlight back on the the anti-Semitism faced by supporters of Tottenham, which has a strong Jewish fan base.

Police threatened to take action against anyone who chanted "Yid," even if it was Tottenham supporters who use the term affectionately to deflect anti-Semitic abuse. But the term, often used as a derogatory term for Jews, was sung with gusto by Tottenham fans and there was no sign of any mass arrests.

The Metropolitan Police told The Associated Press immediately after the game that it only had details of one man being arrested at halftime for causing harassment, alarm or distress in a stand for home fans.

West Bromwich Albion ended Arsenal's streak of eight straight away wins in the Premier League by holding the leaders to a 1-1 draw at home Sunday.

Arsenal couldn't match the fluidity it displayed in its 2-0 dismantling of Napoli in the Champions League midweek, and West Brom took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Claudio Yacob's header in the 42nd.

Arsenal improved in the second half after Tomas Rosicky came on as a substitute, and he helped set up Jack Wilshere for the equalizer in the 63rd as the England midfielder fired in a shot from outside the area.

"He had trouble today to find the rhythm," Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said of Wilshere. "But he has character as well. He doesn't give up, he continues to play his game."

The point was enough to keep Arsenal atop the Premier League table, although it is now level with Liverpool on points and goal difference.

West Brom, coming off a win at Manchester United last weekend, could have extended its lead but Nicolas Anelka missed two good chances for the hosts.

Olivier Giroud then had two chances to secure the win for Arsenal when he was set up first by Mesut Ozil's delightful chip into the area and then by Wilshere's ball over the top, but only managed two poor finishes.
