Ta’ Pinu sanctuary is in the final stages of converting into a museum the house where Karmni Grima lived – Ms Grima is reputed to have heard Our Lady calling to her from the framed picture at Ta’ Pinu.
Twelve paintings have already been restored, with the EU footing 85 per cent, or €340,000 of the €400,000 cost of the whole project. The paintings have been restored by Guzeppi Briffa.
Gozo Minister Anton Refalo visited Ms Grima’s house, where he was met by sanctuary rector Fr Gerald Buhagiar.
Much of the restoration work on the house has been done, including structural works, a new lighting system, and an audio visual presentation of Karmni Grima’s life and the message she received from Our Lady. Two lifts have been installed to make the museum accessible to all.
