FIFA's chief medical officer has criticized Tottenham for allowing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to continue playing after being knocked unconscious during a match.

Jiri Dvorak says there's a 99 percent probability that Lloris would have had a concussion when his head collided with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku's knee during a Premier League match on Sunday.

Despite receiving lengthy treatment, Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas said Lloris looked fine to continue playing with about 15 minutes remaining of the match, which ended 0-0.

Dvorak says Lloris "should have been substituted. The fact the other player needed ice on his knee means it's obvious the blow was extensive."

Brain injury charity Headway says Tottenham was "irresponsible" for not substituting Lloris.
