Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has expressed full support for the early ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Singapore (EUSFTA).
He made the comments at a bilateral meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting last week in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The EUSFTA is expected to enter into force in 2015.
It is the first bilateral agreement concluded by the EU with an ASEAN country.
Both leaders took note of the warm relations between the two countries.
They also agreed to enhance cooperation in the areas of training officials and to pursue new economic opportunities.
