Mario Mifsud of Pembroke, also known as DJ Banana, was conditionally discharged and his driving licence suspended for three months after having been found guilty of unintentionally injuring a warden on 16 December at 2.45 p.m. in Triq Kunsill tal-Ewropa Street, Luqa after the warden stopped him for using his mobile phone while driving.
He was accused of failing to stop when he was instructed to do so, driving at an excessive speed and failin g to give his particulars.
After the sentence was handed down to Mifsud, the accused explained that he has an autistic son and he is the only person who can take him to school and could not do so now that his driving license has been suspended, which led Mifsud to break down in tears.
Police Inspector Spiridione Zammit prosecuted.
