Malta International Airport saw a passenger increase of 11.2% in January, over the same period last year, thanks to added capacity and a consistently positive seat load factor, which went up by 0.3 percentage points.

The 11.2% increase is even bigger than the increase seen in January 2013 which saw an 8% increase.

In passenger numbers, January 2014 saw 199,354 passengers passing through as against the 179,243 in January 2013 and 165,969 in January 2012.

The 11.2% increase is also more on the trend set by the last months of 2013 in which December too saw an 11% increase over the same month in the previous year.
