Roma can put some pressure on Serie A leader Juventus when it hosts Torino on Tuesday.

The defending champions don't play until the following day, when they will be hoping continue their impressive home form against Parma.

TEVEZ ON TARGET

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez scored again over the weekend to take him back to the top of the scoring charts, level with Torino striker Ciro Immobile.

The Argentine scored the winner in a 1-0 victory at Catania for his 16th league goal of the season.

"I'm not thinking about the goalscorers standings," Tevez said. "It was important to win the match. We're getting closer to the title.

"Now we're thinking about the next matches against Parma and Napoli. Each match will be like a final to win the championship, then we'll think about the Europa League."

Juventus hosts Parma on Wednesday, looking for its seventh straight Serie A victory and sixth clean sheet. It has won all 14 of its home league matches this season.

Parma is on a club record unbeaten run of 17 matches.

IMMOBILE FIRSTS

Ciro Immobile scored his first hat trick over the weekend to give Torino a 3-1 win at Livorno and snap a four-match losing streak.

It was the first hat trick a Torino player had scored in 21 years and put Immobile on course to become the first to win the scoring title at Torino since Ciccio Graziani in 1976-77.

The 24-year-old Immobile has also firmly staked his claim for a place in the Italy squad for the upcoming World Cup.

"I would never have believed I would be leading goalscorer if you had told me at the beginning," Immobile said. "I wanted to show my worth and now I have to continue like this.

"I'll be ready if (Italy coach Cesare) Prandelli decides to call me up."

Torino travels to second-place Roma on Tuesday.

MILAN REPRIEVE

There was relief in the AC Milan camp as the Rossoneri snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Lazio.

Pre-match reports said that Clarence Seedorf needed positive results against Lazio and at Fiorentina on Wednesday to avoid being fired.

"This draw breaks a series of defeats, but above all the squad fought with desire, that's what we wanted to see," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said. "There is only one way to get out of this situation. With unity between the club, coach, players and fans, if we manage to group together again I think we can get out of it. The good sign was to see the squad fighting."

GOMEZ FEAR

Fiorentina is worried about the fitness of Mario Gomez after the striker was injured again over the weekend.

Gomez, who has only recently returned following five months out with a knee injury, went off with an injury to his other knee during Fiorentina's 1-0 win at Napoli.

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was originally optimistic it was less serious than first feared, but reports on Monday say Gomez may face a further month on the sidelines.

Gomez was Fiorentina's marquee signing when he joined from Bayern Munich for a reported 20 million euros ($26 million).

He scored twice in his second league match for Fiorentina but was injured on his next Serie A appearance, against Cagliari on Sept. 15.

DI NATALE MOVING IN

Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale has World Cup winner Alessandro del Piero in his sights.

Di Natale scored his 186th goal over the weekend in a 1-0 win over Sassuolo to leave him two behind Del Piero and Giuseppe Signori in the all-time Serie A scoring charts.

The 36-year-old Di Natale, who is reconsidering his decision to retire at the end of the season, is also only four behind Swedish striker Kurt Hamrin in seventh.

Udinese visits Inter Milan on Thursday.
