Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo today accompanied Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg to Victoria's Cittadella where an EU-funded EUR 14.5 million project risks running out of time.
For while works such as the facade of the Museum of Folklore, St Joseph Chapel and the medieval archs have been completed, the list of works that remain is far too long to conclude in the project's timeline. These include the restoration of the Law Courts and the Governor's Palace, the Natural Science Museum and the Old Prison as well as the pathways and streets of the citadel.
Besides, the square in front of the Cathedral needs straightening out so as to host more cultural events.
Minister Refalo said that his ministry found itself faced with doing everything in a short span of time.
The minister and his guests later visited the Banca Giuratale which is being renovated with funds donated by HSBC.
