Verbandsjugendorchester Hochrhein (also known as the Upper Rhine Youth Symphonic Wind Band) is in Malta to perform during Zurrieq’s feast related activities.
The band will perform on Saturday with a final appearance in Zurrieq to take place on Sunday. It is to perform after the procession is over.
On Monday, Victory Day, the German band will be hosted by the V18 organisation at Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta. All performances are open to the public and are free of charge.
The band is directed by Julian Gibbons.
The band’s tour to Malta is part of a musical twinning between St Catherine Band Club of Zurrieq and the German band itself.
This year is a special occasion for St Catherine Musical Society as it celebrates one hundred fifty years since it was founded.
