Continuing with his visit to the United States, PN leader Simon Busuttil met with the State Department officials on the Resettlement Program.

The US, he was assured, will continue to help with the resettlement of a number of migrants who come to Malta.

Each year, the US accepts some 70,000 refugees from all over the world and, over the last few years, it has has been accepting some 500 refugees from Malta. The US intends to continue accepting refugees from Malta in the next years.

Dr Busuttil expressed the Opposition's appreciation for this and said he hopes this will spur European countries to follow the US example.
