A mother and a son were assisted by lifeguards this morning as they found themselves in difficulty while swimming at Ramla Bay in Gozo. At around 11.40am, lifeguards of the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps swam to assist the two foreigners, and successful dragged them ashore to safety. Meanwhile, a third swimmer was also given assistance by another lifeguard. Members of the Civil Protection Department and Gozo General Hospital were on the scene only minutes after a call was made.
The Malta Tourism Authority and Gaia Foundation provide financial support for the lifeguard service at Ramla Bay.
